99 reasons (to play LAX), but a stick ain't one.

Why should your child-athlete play lacrosse?

You aren't going to read 99 reasons why your child should play lacrosse, so let's consider just 5...

1. LAX is the fastest sport played on two feet

Lacrosse has often been called “the fastest game on two feet” because of how quickly the ball can be moved across the field. The game is so fast that sometimes you may not even see where the ball is until somebody scored a goal. As a spectator watching the game, it will even make your heart go thump-thump in your chest.

2. The size does not matter

Get your head out of the gutter 👀...we're talking about player height ⬆️; it doesn't matter how tall you are when you play lacrosse. In fact, taller players could be at a disadvantage👇. Players must pass through small gaps and a lot of times, low beats high.

3. LAX players become more dynamic in other sports

The speed of the game and the coordination skills players gain in LAX, improve performance in other sports. Lacrosse is so versatile that players train every muscle in the body.

4. You can save money on college tuition (maybe)

Another attractive facet of lacrosse is scholarship opportunity 🥍 💸.

There are many high school players that are sincerely passionate about their athletic dream of taking their talents to the collegiate level. In most cases, these aspirations lie just out of reach due to heavy competition.

The sport of lacrosse is just beginning to take the world by storm. As a result, new collegiate lacrosse programs are popping up seemingly every year. In fact, lacrosse offers high school athletes the greatest likelihood of playing at the collegiate level relative to every other major high school sport. Don’t believe me? Google it...

5. It combines many sporting skills

One of the main attractions of lacrosse is that it integrates specific elements from a multitude of other popular sports. This provides an easy transition for players with diverse athletic backgrounds. They are able to detect these commonalities and apply their knowledge from other sports to the game of lacrosse.

Parting words...

Participation in lacrosse has grown a lot over the last ten years. The sport is seeing an increase in popularity among all categories, with the NCAA reporting over the last two decades a 24% increase in the number of new men’s lacrosse programs and a 65% increase in new women’s lacrosse programs. Lacrosse is the fastest-growing high school sport in the nation. As its popularity has increased, so has its injury list. Every year, lacrosse players of all ages are susceptible to head-related injuries and more importantly, concussions, during games and practices.
